This blog documents our journey as we discover more about our family history through cooking. As we explore several oil stained recipe cards we will battle butter, ketchup and catfish stew to name a few.
Although our grandparents died while we were both quite young the memories of them live on through their recipes. As we gather recipes and photos the puzzle pieces find their place and we learn more about who they were. The black ink on the recipe cards provide insight to their daily life, their humor, their cooking adventures and misadventures far more than the visual evidence we see from the photos. Paired together we are cooking in black and white.
We are cousins living in the Pacific Northwest who have similar interests in cooking, enjoying the outdoors, music and spreading the Morris love attitude. We hope you enjoy reading about our debacles in the kitchen as we take our friends and family along with us.
